About Us
Welcome to the African Praise group Canada, a vibrant African gospel choir based in Canada! Our mission is to uplift and inspire through the powerful melodies and rich rhythms of African gospel music. We are a diverse group of passionate singers and musicians, united by our love for music and our desire to share the joyous messages of faith, hope, and community. Founded in 2023, our choir draws from a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions, celebrating the beauty of African heritage while embracing our Canadian home. We perform a variety of gospel styles, from traditional hymns to contemporary gospel, ensuring that every performance is a heartfelt expression of our faith and a testament to our shared journey.

Join Us for Rehearsals!
Our choir rehearsals are a time of inspiration, collaboration, and growth as we come together to create beautiful music. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:
Schedule:
- When: We have some set days, especially Weekends from 5pm to 7pm EST
- Where: Mostly remote/Online ora set studio as communicated on the Whatsapp group platform.
What to Bring:
- A water bottle to stay hydrated
- Your sheet music (provided in advance)
- A pencil for notes
- An open heart and a joyful spirit!
Rehearsal Structure:
- Warm-Up: We start with vocal exercises to prepare our voices and enhance our technique.
- Group Practice: We dive into our repertoire, focusing on harmonies, dynamics, and rhythm.
- Break: A short break for refreshments and fellowship.
- Sectionals: We break into smaller groups (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) to refine specific parts of our songs.
- Full Choir Practice: We come back together to rehearse as a complete choir, integrating our work and ensuring a cohesive sound.
- Feedback and Prayer: We conclude with feedback, announcements, and a time of prayer, centering ourselves in our mission.
Community and Connection:
Our rehearsals are not just about music; they’re about building relationships and fostering a sense of community. Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or a newcomer, you’ll find a supportive environment where everyone’s contributions are valued.
